The Eagle Pass News Gram reached out to local officials and law enforcement agencies in order to clearly outline all rules and procedures in all the major picnic areas across the community.

The City of Eagle Pass are urging citizens to help conserve our parks for future use and enjoyment.

"Don't drive on park grass, playgrounds or park property, do not build fires on the ground and please pick up your area," states a release from the City Parks and Recreation Department.

They also remind all citizens that camping is not allowed.  All areas will be on a first come, first serve basis beginning at 6:00 AM.

The Eagle Pass Police Department will be monitoring all city areas throughout the night.

A release by EPPD says, "The Eagle Pass Police Department will remain vigilant as the safety of our community and citizens are of the utmost importance.  All laws will be strictly enforced.  Traffic laws as well as the appropriate use of seat belts and car seats will also be enforced."

The community is asked that if drinking any alcoholic beverages to do so in moderation and always remember not to drink and drive as the result could take a life.

The Maverick County Lake will also be opening at 6:00 AM and most areas have already been reserved.  Maverick County Deputies will be on hand from 12:00 noon to 8:00 PM to insure that all citizens are abiding by local laws and ordinances and to make sure that there is no speeding and/or driving around the lake as there will be many children.

The Splash Pad will be open for children to enjoy.  The Maverick County Road & Bridge Department will also have personnel on hand to help maintain order.
