Fiscal de Distrito Serna señaló que los esfuerzos de sus asistentes Robert Little y Alberto Rodríguez, y los investigadores Eloy García y Clemente De Hoyos eran importantes para la resolución exitosa del caso. D. A. Serna también tomó nota de que los esfuerzos del detective José Méndez y el oficial José Palacios del Departamento de Policía de Eagle Pass eran tan importantes. 

Serna dijo que el veredicto del jurado demuestra que los ciudadanos del Condado de Maverick harán lo que se necesita para detener a  criminales responsables de sus actos ilícitos. Se comprometió además a asegurar que todos los delincuentes serán enjuiciados en  los Condados Dimmit, Maverick y Zavala 

Chavarria convicted of Evading Arrest

District Attorney Roberto Serna announced that on April 9, 2014, a jury in Maverick County convicted Jose Maria Chavarria, for the offense of Evading Arrest with a Vehicle and assessed punishment of four years in prison.

District Attorney Serna noted that the efforts of Assistant District Attorneys Robert Little and Alberto Rodriguez, and District Attorney Investigators Eloy Garcia and Clemente De Hoyos were important to the successful resolution of the case.  

D.A. Serna also noted that the efforts of Detective Jose Mendez and Officer Jose Palacios from the Eagle Pass Police Department were just as important.

Serna stated that the jury's verdict shows that the citizens of Maverick County will do what it takes to hold criminals responsible for their unlawful acts.  He further pledged to insure that all criminals will be prosecuted in Dimmit, Maverick and Zavala Counties.
