"We are happy to report a very gracious donation from H-E-B in the amount of $25,000.00," reported Montalvo on Friday evening. A total on the amount of all donations was not available at press time.
The Language Development Center presented Kindles for Kindergarten, Kennedy Hall presented their Super Readers Project as well as their StarFall Project, Glass Elementary presented Embracing Dyslexia, Liberty Elementary presented Next Generation Reading, Benavides Elementary presented Science Lab Investigating and Memorial Junior High presented two projects, The Interactive Classroom and Fostering the Next Generation of Medicine- Dissecting in the Classroom.
A total of $8,500.00 were distributed by the foundation last year to enhance the learning opportunities for our students in highly creative and innovative ways and on this night these classrooms, their teachers and students were on display.
"I would like to thank everyone who participated in this gala which was very successful," stated Montalvo, "The children were very excited about receiving their grants. The created innovative programs on their campuses. I would also like to thank the committee for their hard work in organizing this event."
