A total of 5,080 votes were cast unofficially as reported by Arturo Delgado, Election Judge, who proceeded to announce race by race, the vote totals which revealed three official winners in three key races.
Gerardo Morales turned in an impressive total of 901 votes of 1,575 cast in Precinct 1, possibly the biggest turnout of the three precincts in question. Of the remaining candidates, Leo Buentello ran the best race garnering 435 votes.
In the highly contested race for County Clerk, incumbent Sara Montemayor outlasted challenger Rosa Alfaro Martinez 2,833 to 1,376 respectively.
In the District Clerk race Leopoldo Vielma defeated Carmen Molano in an even closer race as both candidates are to be commended, with Vielma coming out on top 2,264 to Molano's 1,925.
There will be run-offs in two of the three county commissioner positions as in Precinct 2, front-runner Rosy Cantu garnered 374 votes to Martha Chacon's 236 and Asalia Casares' 227 considering the amount of candidates as there were eight in total. A total of 1,309 votes were cast in Precinct 2, the largest by area.
In the race for precinct 4, there will be a run-off between appointee Robert Ruiz who had a total of 457 votes to Guadalupe Cardona's 380 in a race that had two other candidates, Luis Alfonso Ruiz and Rossy Leos who had 234 votes combined which will be in play in this too close to call race for commissioner.
JP of Pct 4 Tere Melendrez with 719 votes ran unopposed, while David J. Castañeda for Pct. 3 Place 1 had the majority of the votes there 482 to Gilberto Salas' 265. In Precinct 2, Dora Madera won her election over Gabino Musquiz 768 to 334.
