The economic landscape of Eagle Pass is slowly developing into what was once seen in our neighboring sister city of Laredo not too long ago which saw the city go from a mid-size city in the early eighties to the sprawling metropolis it continues to be in the eyes of state and federal legislators as yet another new business sets its sights on our fair city.

Thanks to information gathered from City Planner, Brian Shea and his staff, The Eagle Pass News Gram has been informed that the $1.5 million dollar project will be located at 2431 E. Main Street adjacent to IBC Headquarters and in front of Maverick County Lake. The facility has been given the city's seal of approval and has gone through all required city inspections as authorized by Roger L. Stephens, a representative of the popular pharmacy chain on December 5, 2013. The 1.385 acre tract will house the 60,351 square foot building which will be a near replica of some of the newer stores in and around the San Antonio area. Walgreen's opened it's 6,000th store in New Orleans, Louisiana and they operate in all fifty states and the District of Columbia.
