The scary sight of an individual, the foreman perhaps of this professional crew of tower demolishers could be seen standing atop the structures for the length of time it took to take these outdated structures, erected in the 1970's, down after parting the giant orbs in four equal pieces which were eventually pulled down safely by cranes. "They came in on Wednesday morning took down the tower on FM 2030, by the end of the day, they took down the other (In Chula Vista Heights) and on Thursday, they took down the other (On Second St.)," said EPWW Director Jorge Barrera, "They came in, did their job and they left." The price of this calculated destruction? $36,000.00. According to sources close to EPWW, the new tanks which can be seen in many areas of town were purchased and put to use as part of the $103,000,000.00 upgrade years back which were used to build the new Roberto Gonzalez Regional Water Treatment Plant. As you can see from the images, it would've been hard to miss the sights and sounds of this massive undertaking.
