A private enterprise, Air Evac, will be installing a weather station at the county airport which will not only allow the Air Evac Life Team to know what weather and wind conditions are at the time they leave San Antonio, but it will also serve the citizens of Maverick County with a more accurate method to check local weather.

Commissioners Court recently gave approval to the company Air Evac Lifeteam to proceed with the construction of this weather station which will help the company improve its service.

Additionally, the service can be used by any air service who may need to land in Maverick County.

The cost of this technology and equipment, which will run in the range of $100,000.00 will be covered in full by the company who offers air transportation services to hospitals in San Antonio and permission to install said equipment has been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.
