Eagle Pass Water Works expects to receive 8 million dollars in resources as soon as January through a state grant to make improvements to the city's drainage systems. Jorge Barrera, Director of Eagle Pass Water Works System, announced that a portion of these resources will be used to purchase digital meters to further enable more efficient and accessible reading.

He said that in this way consumption will be better measured . Barrera added that the meters will replace currently used meters for both private and commercial service . Barrera further added that the agency has a project to renovate water lines in the first frame that already has many years of service thus preventing severe leakage which may occur in the future. Reliance submitted an application for a grant of $ 8 million, to be used for various infrastructure projects to improve the service offered to the community.
