Herrera joined Tractor Supply in 2013 as a manager-in-training at the Uvalde location. Prior to joining Tractor Supply, she worked at Walmart for 17 years and a clothing store for five years. In her free time, the Eagle Pass native enjoys fishing. As store manager, Herrera oversees all store operations, including receiving, inventory control and merchandising, as well as customer and team member relations. To celebrate the grand opening of the store, shoppers received 10 percent off their first purchase, up to $100, from Dec. 6-8, and entered to win prizes including store gift cards, pet feed, clothing, power tools, a 22-ton log splitter and a chain saw. Free Tractor Supply caps were also given away while supplies lasted. "This is the 139th Tractor Supply store in Texas," stated Herrera, "We are the largest retail farm and ranch supply store chain in the United States." The grand opening event this Saturday featured a mariachi band, a ballet folklorico, miniature pony rides (first 30 rides were free), the Seco Mines Minerettes cheerleaders and CC Winn High School Maverick cheerleaders, a plate sale provided by the 4-H Southside Club, a DJ playing music and a live radio remote. The store also hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday with members of the local Chamber of Commerce. Regular operating hours for the store, located at 2116 Town Square Blvd., are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
