Troop 274 of the Boy Scouts of America were the beneficiaries of a gracious donation of $1,500.00 by Store Manager Jesus Valencia Wal-Mart Stores Inc. which according to Scout Master Luis Krezdorn will be utilized for summer camps, winter camps, supplies, materials and awards.

"We have approximately 25 scouts ranging from the ages of 9-18," stated Krezdorn who serves as Scout Master for our Cub Scouts, "Ours actually start at 8 years old and go from Bobcat level to Wolf, Bear and Webelo before becoming Boy Scouts."

The lengthy process entails many requirements such as attending day camps, knowing the Pledge, the Boy Scout Motto, visiting state and elected officials and finding out about the political process, survival skills and camping.  All worthwhile endeavors for sure.

"The ultimate goal for any scout is to become an Eagle Scout which in the past five years we've only seen two young men reach," he added, "It's attainable, but you have to stick to it.  It depends on our leaders and parents."

Krezdorn serves the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scout Master in Eagle Pass is Ivan Rodriguez.
