In her address to the 30-40 youths who were in attendance, Judge Angelini had a very special article of clothing she cherishes to show the children that there are many productive ways to spend your free time in this country one of which is the Brownies and Girl Scouts as she proudly displayed her official Brownies scarf and Girl Scout badges earned in her time as a scout. The event, an annual fund-raiser was augmented by the musical styling's of San Antonio's own Celebrate from Coker Methodist Church in the Alamo City who entertained the crowd with their vocal harmonies and acoustic melodies. "This is a wonderful opportunity to raise some some much needed funds for our mission work," stated Ballou, "We got a lot of help from Judge Angelini and some of our Methodist friends from San Antonio." Children even took part in Pumpkin Bowling for that matter in an afternoon which turned out to have ideal weather. All of this took place with the help of Border Hope Day Treatment participants and students in some of their after school programs. When you see the wondrous eyes of the children who have just gotten some love in the form of a butterfly painted on their little face, you know that the effort is all the more worthwhile.

Methodist Church hen The Honorable Karen Angelini, 4th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge speaks, people listen. It's just the same for Lisa Smith and Cathleen Hurren, the latter a corporate litigator whose demeanor is probably a little firmer and significantly more focused than we saw her out here today, as the three meandered about the grounds of Becky Ballou's First United Methodist Church as kids enjoyed musical chairs, cake walks and fishing games. Angelini was even seen admiring the work of local students who are part of Border Hope's efforts to reach out to kids who just need someone to believe in them to assist them in dealing with life's obstacles.
