A report was received by County Commissioner Roberto Ruiz of the possible sighting of an alligator at a small pond in Siete Lomas Park where a female witness testified she had seen a large reptile eating a duck or water fowl.

Commissioner Ruiz contacted Cody Buckaloo of the Texas Department of Parks & Wildlife who was hesitant about the existence of this particular animal as no tracks were found, but he did confess that the animals have been sighted all along the Rio Grande.

He asks that parents and especially children beware of the possibility of the existence of alligators in our area.
