Sandra Martinez, Executive Director of The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce and Victor Garcia, 2nd Unit Director for HEB, met with the press on Tuesday morning to graciously inform us of the initial planning stages of the Annual feast of Sharing which is scheduled for sometime in November and will once again be held at the Eagle Pass International Center for Trade.

The 18th Annual event, held on November 24th, 1996 at Eagle Pass High School, is an event which is a landmark event for HEB each and every year in which they reach out to the community and thank them for all their support throughout the year.

The City of Eagle Pass, The Eagle Pass Rotary Club, The Chamber of Commerce, and other area sponsors organized this conference in order to reach out to local clubs, organizations, businesses, schools to send volunteers to assist in the serving and preparation of these meals for the less fortunate who may not be able to have Thanksgiving Dinner for their families.

"It is very important to have an organized manner of registering our volunteers for this event in order for them to know exactly what their role will be and at what time they are to report to their respective places," stated Martinez, "The success of this event is due to the great response we have always had by our volunteers, so for this we a re thankful as well."

All volunteer registrations will be held at the Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce at 400 Garrison Street, phone number 773-3224.

Volunteers are asked not to call HEB as they will not be registering volunteers this year.  November 15th has been set as the deadline to register volunteers.
