County Commissioner of Precinct 4, Robert Ruiz informed The News Gram of the latest on the Nick Carr Sports Complex situation which has Eagle Pass softball enthusiasts on edge, 'Who will run the highly popular leagues which are played at Panchito's?'.

Ruiz stated that he will look into the possibility of naming a new coordinator for these programs and has someone in mind who may be able to walk right in, someone with experience who can responsibly administer the activities at the complex.

"My intention is to make it better than before," stated the newly appointed commissioner, "The person I have in mind may be named as soon as Monday," he said as he was busy seeing that all was ready for the Abrazo Ceremony he emceed on Friday.

"There will be more accountability and the funds will go directly to the County Treasurer's office and I have confidence that we can make it work."

As many can tell you, you can drive by on any given Wednesday for instance, and see hundreds of people gathered here either in or around the softball field, the little league field on the far end of the property, on or around the immaculate soccer field which has prepared many a soccer player for both high schools, the basketball court, the boxing ring, the children's play area or even the paved walkway as it truly is and has been a family-oriented gathering place which is used by children, youths and adults young and old.
