Pérez ha estado en el tribunal durante las últimas 3 semanas para una audiencia de sentencia que finalizó el viernes 13 de septiembre alrededor de las 2:45 am. Las etapas finales de la audiencia habían estado en curso desde el jueves por la mañana.
Este acto criminal, que tuvo lugar el 19 de diciembre de 2019, fue una acusación que preludió el asesinato de Brian Davila, de 19 años, el 23 de mayo de 2020.
El robo agravado de una vivienda de Pérez fue contra Davila en su lugar de residencia. El Sr. Dávila fue asesinado a manos de Pérez el 23 de mayo de 2020.
Desde entonces, las autoridades, incluida la oficina del fiscal de distrito, han estado trabajando para consolidar su caso contra el acusado, quien fue acusado del asesinato en 2020.
También habían estado preparando y trabajando en el caso penal de robo agravado de una vivienda.
Pérez ahora será enviado a un centro penitenciario estatal y puede apelar su sentencia.
Brian Dávila tenía 19 años en el momento en que Pérez le disparó afuera de un local comercial en la cuadra 2200 de El Indio Highway el 23 de mayo de 2020.

Luis Alonso Perez Sentenced to 14 Years for Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Aggravated Assault

Luis Alonso Perez, who has been found guilty of Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Aggravated Assault, has been sentenced to 14 years (168 months) in prison.
Perez has been in court for the past 3 weeks for a sentencing hearing which ended on Friday, September 13th at around 2:45 am. The hearing's final stages had been ongoing since Thursday morning.
This criminal act, which took place on December 19, 2019, was an accusation which preluded the murder of 19-year-old Brian Davila on May 23, 2020.
Perez's Aggravated Burglary of a Habitation was against Davila at his place of residence.
Mr. Davila was then murdered at the hands of Perez on May 23, 2020.
Since then, authorities including the District Attorney's office have been working on solidifying their case against the defendant, who was accused of the murder back in 2020.
They had also been preparing and working on the Aggravated Burglary of a Habitation criminal case.
Perez will now be remanded to a state corrections facility and can appeal his sentencing.
Brian Davila was 19 years old at the time that he was shot by Perez outside a business location in the 2200 block of El Indio Highway on May 23, 2020.
In a sad but fateful coincidence, Perez's sentencing occurred on the day that Brian Davila would have turned 23 years old, his birthday, September 12th.
Luis Alonso Perez is expected to face murder charges in a Maverick County District Courtroom in the future.
