La junta acordó una sesión cerrada donde evaluaron y sostuvieron una discusión con el Superintendente Mijares.
Una vez de regreso en sesión abierta, la Junta dio una evaluación positiva, incluida la adición de un año más al contrato existente del Sr. Mijares.
El superintendente Mijares ha estado al frente del Distrito Escolar Independiente de Eagle Pass desde 2019, cuando reemplazó al superintendente saliente Gilbert González.
Mijares ha estado en EPISD durante 25 años y ha ocupado varios puestos, como maestro, oficial de instrucción, director, director ejecutivo y superintendente adjunto.
Durante su mandato, el Superintendente Mijares se ha esforzado por tener en cuenta los mejores intereses de los estudiantes y del personal.
Mijares agradeció a la junta y señaló que el distrito es un éxito gracias a los maestros, el personal, la administración y un esfuerzo total del equipo.

EPISD Board Gives Superintendent Mijares a Very Favorable Job Evaluation
The Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday, July 9th held their monthly meeting in which they discussed several important items, including the evaluation of Superintendent Samuel Mijares.
The Board convened into closed session where they evaluated and held a discussion with Superintendent Mijares.
Once back in open session, the Board gave a positive evaluation including adding another year to Mr. Mijares's existing contract.
Superintendent Mijares has been at the head of the Eagle Pass Independent School District since 2019 when he replaced retiring Superintendent Gilbert Gonzalez.
Mijares has been with EPISD for 25 years and has served in various positions as teacher, instructional officer, principal, executive director, and deputy superintendent.
During his tenure, Superintendent Mijares has strived to keep the students’ and staff’s best interest in mind.
Mijares thanked the Board and noted that the district is a success due to the teachers, staff, administration, an all-out team effort.
"I want to thank the Board and their continued support," said Mijares.
