Residents Urged to Take Precautions During Hot Weather Temperatures
Authorities are urging residents to be careful as hot weather temperatures are expected to continue as the summer season begins.
The Eagle Pass Fire Department and medical entities including the Maverick County Hospital District, United Medical Centers, and Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers ask the community to take precautions during the extreme hot weather.
Problems such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke can escalate rapidly, leading to delirium, organ damage, and even death.
People most at risk include infants and young children, especially if left in hot cars, people 65 and older, people who are ill, have chronic health conditions or are on certain medications, and people who are overweight.
You are also asked to be aware of heat exhaustion, and heat stroke symptoms which may endanger your life and that of your loved ones and pets.
