Authorities on Monday reported a single-vehicle accident that sent the driver to the emergency room.

Maverick County Pct. 2  Constable Albert De La Torre reported that his department responded to an area along Highway 57 near Loop 480 at around 1:00 pm regarding a vehicle that had crashed and ended up going into a brush area.

Authorities arrived at the scene and found a 4-door silver color SUV and an individual who needed medical attention.

The area was shut down to traffic and the Eagle Pass Fire Department was summoned to the scene.

The EPFD quickly arrived and assisted the individual out of the vehicle.

The driver was then transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers emergency room for treatment and evaluation.

Law enforcement officials are investigating the accident to determine what occurred that caused the individual to lose control and hit traffic railing and end up driving off the road.
