El tradicional y esperado desfile de la amistad que organiza año tras año la Cámara de Comercio. El desfile tiene el tema "Personajes de dibujos animados favoritos" que dará inicio a las festividades de este año.
El martes por la mañana, la directora de la Cámara de Comercio, Margie Montoya, y el representante de BFCU, Joe Cruz, estaban seleccionando cada una de las solicitudes de los grupos que van a participar y poniendo el orden de los participantes para el desfile.
El número total de grupos participantes incluyendo dignatarios locales asciende a 34. Sólo una banda viene del lado mexicano.
El desfile comienza como es costumbre en la zona de Quarry y Ceylon a las 11 horas y los jueces encargados de entregar premios a los mejores grupos se ubicarán en la biblioteca pública.
La próxima semana los días 28, 29 y 30 se realizará el carnaval de atracciones para niños y adultos, pero esta vez será en las zonas de Fort Duncan.
Todo el público está invitado a disfrutar de estos eventos tan esperados de principios de primavera.
Friendship Festival Parade to be Held Saturday
The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce have announced that this year's Friendship Festival parade will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the heart of Downtown.
The traditional and long-awaited friendship parade that is organized year after year by the Chamber of Commerce will host the parade themed "Favorite Cartoon Characters" will commence this year's festivities.
On Tuesday morning, Chamber of Commerce Director Margie Montoya and BFCU representative Joe Cruz were selecting each of the applications of the groups that are going to participate and were putting the parade's participants order.
The total number of participating groups including local dignitaries totals 34. Only one band is coming from the Mexican side.
The parade begins as is customary in the Quarry and Ceylon area at 11am and the judges in charge of giving prizes to the best groups will be located at the public library.
Next week on the 28th, 29th and 30th there will be the carnival of amusement rides for children and adults, but this time it will be in the Fort Duncan areas.
The entire public is invited to enjoy these long-awaited early spring events.
