El acuerdo de transferencia entre ambas instituciones de educación superior es un paso importante al garantizar la transferencia de todas las clases (créditos) completadas y mostrar un camino claro para el avance continuo. También
ayuda a abrir las líneas de comunicación entre los colegios comunitarios y las instituciones de cuatro años.
En la ceremonia de firma participaron el Dr. Héctor Gonzales, presidente de SWTJC; Dr. Pablo Arenaz, Presidente de TAMIU y Brenda Hoffman, Vicepresidenta de SWTJC. En representación de EPISD estuvo Ana Laura Castillon, directora de CTE.
En representación de la ciudad de Eagle Pass estuvo el alcalde interino William Davis, quien felicitó a todos los involucrados en nombre de la ciudad de Eagle Pass.
"Nos gustaría felicitar a Southwest Texas Junior College por ejecutar exitosamente un acuerdo de transferencia con la Universidad Internacional Texas A&M", dijo Davis. "Este tipo de convenios facilitan oportunidades de avance educativo mientras ahorran dinero y comienzan en casa con la posibilidad de terminar en una universidad de 4 años, permitiéndoles completar su carrera en el campo de estudio que cursan".
Este es un momento monumental que permite que estas instituciones educativas se unan para lograr un futuro más fuerte e impactante que allane el camino para nuevas oportunidades.
SWTJC & TAMIU Sign Important Student Transfer Agreement
Southwest Texas Junior College and Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) held a special event on March 19th in which they signed a transfer agreement signing ceremony at the SWTJC campus located at Building F-120, 3101 Bob Rogers Dr., Eagle Pass, TX.
The transfer agreement between both higher learning institutions is an important step by ensuring all completed classes (credits) transfer and showing a clear pathway for continued advancement. It also
helps open the lines of communication between community colleges and four-year institutions.
Participating in the signing ceremony were Dr. Hector Gonzales, SWTJC President; Dr. Pablo Arenaz, TAMIU President and Brenda Hoffman, SWTJC Vice-President. Representing EPISD was Ana Laura Castillon, CTE Director.
Representing the City of Eagle Pass was Mayor Pro-Tem William Davis, who congratulated all involved on behalf of the City of Eagle Pass.
"We would like to congratulate Southwest Texas Junior College for successfully executing a transfer agreement with Texas A&M International University," said Davis. "These types of agreements facilitate opportunities for educational advancement while saving money and starting off at home with the possibilities of finishing at a 4-year university, allowing them to complete their degree in the field of study they pursue."
This is a monumental moment that allows for these education institutions to come together for a stronger, more impactful future that paves the way for new opportunities.
