Law Enforcement officials continue investigating the suspicious death of a two-month-old child at a residence located in the Loma Bonita sector of the community.
The incident took place last week on September 11th.
At that time, the Eagle Pass Fire Department and Maverick County Sheriff Department were summoned to a residence located at Calle Albores where a 2-month-old child was reported to be unresponsive.
Upon arriving at the scene, EMS personnel quickly provided life-saving assistance to the child and then transported her to the Emergency Room at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers.
The child was later transferred to a San Antonio, TX hospital.
Tragically, the child passed away from what authorities believe are injuries caused by either blunt force or being thrown around.
Authorities are now working on an investigation that could possibly lead to child abuse charges on the child's father.
More details on this matter will be disclosed in the near future as authorities are investigating the incident and waiting on an autopsy to determine how the child died.
An investigation does not assume any guilt. No charges have been filed in this case.
