The Eagle Pass Police Department that day at around 2:45 pm received a 911 emergency call reporting that a male individual was found dead at his residence in the 200 block of Rio Grande St. in the downtown area of the city.

Authorities including the Eagle Pass Fire Department responded to the scene and found the individual and proceeded to call for an investigation suspecting foul play in his death. 

A Justice of the Peace was summoned to the scene and an autopsy was ordered to determine the cause of death on the victim who is reported to be around 62 years old. 

A search in the area was then launched as officers searched for a suspect and any witnesses who could have vital information into the death now turned into a murder investigation.

The crime scene was cordoned off as EPPD investigators conducted a thorough review and collection of anything that could assist in the investigation.

After several hours the individual's body was removed by a local funeral home. 

Authorities are continuing this investigation including searching for a suspect that was witnessed on security cameras with the dead individual hours before.
