"We had been following several leads. We got lucky that a family member noticed the truck driving into the Loma Bonita area and dialed 911. My Deputy Constables Pct. 2 responded to the area of Loma Bonita and ended up by the 1600 Blk on Baltica St. and noticed that they tried to conceal the truck by covering it with a tarp. After confirming that it was the stolen vehicle in question Maverick County Sheriff's Department lead Investigator was summoned to the location and the vehicle has been recovered," said De La Torre.
The Loma Bonita area continues being a hotspot for illegal activity. This is something that has been taking place for several years.
Currently, the Maverick County Commissioners Court is working on the construction of a Sheriff Substation in that area. This will allow for more law enforcement presence in that area.
