The Eagle Pass Main St. Program Board of Trustees and Administration are looking into different viable options for the installation of an updated parking meter system in the downtown area.

The Main St. Board held a meeting on Monday, April 17th where Main St. Program Director Zenaida Rodriguez presented information regarding a parking meter system that could possibly replace the outdated  meters that along the years have become obsolete.

The proposed Parkmobile system - since it's launch in 2008 - has helped millions of people easily find and pay for parking on their mobile devices. People can use ParkMobile solutions to quickly pay for street and garage parking without having to use a meter or kiosk. Additionally, ParkMobile offers parking reservations for concerts, sporting events, airports, campuses and more.

It provides On- and Off-Street Mobile Payments, Prepaid Parking & Reservations, Permits, Fleets, Event & Venue-Based Parking, and Validations.

The Parkmobile Application also provides Parking Expiration Notification reminders, Offers Walking Directions Back to Your Vehicle, Enforcement Option to Check which Vehicles have Paid, Parking Payment Verification, and Contactless Payment.

The Board consisting of Chairperson Elishoel Reyes, Vice Chairperson William Ward and Chris Luna continued the discussion and suggested looking into setting up Payment Kiosks for those individuals that can only pay with cash.

Rodriguez agreed that looking at all the options is important in order to provide the best and adequate service to the user.

The Main St. Board and Administration will continue looking into putting together a solid plan to be able to present to the Eagle Pass City Council for consideration and approval.
