Police Chief Federico Garza and EPPD personnel would like to take this opportunity to wish the citizens and community a safe and happy upcoming Halloween.
Remember that safety should always be emphasized during the hours when "Trick or Treat” activities will be conducted; for which the following times have been designated: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday, October 31, 2022.
Police Department patrol units will be enhanced as they have been in previous years in order to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
The following safety tips are recommended and encouraged for all those who are out "Trick or Treating" on this spookiest of nights!
Always walk with an adult. Make sure you look both ways before crossing the street.
Stay on sidewalks and off streets. Wear a costume with visible colors or place reflective tape on your costume.
Respect other people's property. Parents or guardians please inspect candy before it's consumed. Carry a flashlight or a glow stick to be visible at night.
Costumes should not cover eyes or restrict vision or breathing.
Only visit houses with porch lights on.
Plan your "Trick or Treat" route before you leave the house. Cross streets Only at the corners. Never run across the street.
Parents and guardians please enforce safety with children at all times.
