The grand opening was celebrated with owner Enriqueta Diaz, EP Chamber of Commerce, local authorities and community advocates present to welcome the much-needed family transition services.
The Childrens Safe Haven Visitation Center is the first of its kind within a 200 mile radius.
Its general purpose is to provide supervised visitations for non-custodial parents in an environment that promotes safe, positive, and productive interactions between children and parents.
During the grand opening, Mrs. Diaz thanked those in attendance and provided details as to the service to be provided.
"This is a huge problem worldwide. The District Courts handle divorces and the majority of the time there are children involved. Abuse touches every level of a family. In a divorce setting there are often conflicts when sharing time with the children. This center will provide a safe haven for visitations, for those children," said Diaz.
Divorces are often problematic and hurtful for children involved as 98% of those are non-amicable separations.
The main objective is to encourage and keep the parent-child attachment intact, to prevent feelings of abandonment, and to give parents an opportunity to spend time with their children so they can bond and provide children with conflict-free access to both of their parents.
The Childrens Safe Haven Visitation Center is located at 263 Jefferson St. Ste 6 in Eagle Pass, Tx.
