Durante ese incidente, un individuo masculino recibió un disparo una vez en la zona del hombro. Fue trasladado por aire a un hospital de San Antonio, Texas, donde se informa que se está recuperando.

El sospechoso fue detenido después de que un oficial que patrullaba detuvo un Toyota Camry 2019 por una infracción de tránsito en la intersección de Second St. y Veterans Blvd ese mismo día.

Se realizó un registro del vehículo y se encontró un arma de fuego escondida debajo del asiento del conductor.

El individuo identificado como Ricardo Elizondo Jr., de 49 años, sospechoso de estar involucrado en el tiroteo, fue detenido para una mayor investigación. Mientras lo arrestaban, se descubrió que llevaba un chaleco antibalas.

El Departamento del Sheriff del condado de Maverick está investigando el incidente del tiroteo.

Suspect in Hopedale Shooting Arrested for Investigation

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber reported that deputies arrested a suspect possibly related to a shooting incident that occurred in the Hopedale sector of the community on Friday, December 10, 2021.

During that incident a male individual was shot once in the shoulder area. He was air lifted to a San Antonio, Texas hospital where it's reported that he is recuperating.

The suspect was detained after a deputy out patrolling stopped a 2019 Toyota Camry for a traffic violation at the intersection of  Second St. and Veterans Blvd that same day.

A search was conducted of the vehicle and a firearm was found concealed under the driver's seat.

The individual identified as 49-year-old Ricardo Elizondo Jr. who is suspected of being involved in the shooting was detained for further investigation. While being arrested he was found to be wearing a bullet proof vest.

The Maverick County Sheriff Department is currently investigating the shooting incident.

It's important to note that an individual is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
