On Friday morning the Eagle Pass Police Department was involved in a high speed pursuit which resulted in the arrest of at least ten Undocumented Immigrants.
This pursuit occurred in the downtown area going through Ceylon St and into Leona St.
EMS personnel were summoned to the scene to provide assistance to some of the Undocumented Immigrants. They were then turned over to the United States Border Patrol.
Earlier this very day the Maverick County Sheriff Department stopped a Commercial Vehicle. The deputy noticed anomalies in the vehicle. It was then taken to be reviewed at the United States Customs and Border Protection Headquarters where authorities found 8 Undocumented Immigrants hiding in a compartment.
The illegal immigration surge continues overwhelming authorities who continue trying to catch up with their duties of stopping this problem.
