Community Breakfast held

The Eagle Pass Chamber of Commerce Community Breakfast held at the International Trade Center on Wednesday October 20 was a great success with numerous agencies and local residents assisting.

The Community Breakfast was attended by dignitaries from different agencies and local community residents as well.

During the event, Chamber of Commerce representatives thanked all in attendance and welcomed special guest presenters from Candles for Life, a local non-profit organization that raises awareness and funds for cancer patients, and City Manager George Antuna. 

The group presented awareness information as part of Breast Cancer Awareness. They also discussed the outcome of the annual Candles for Life event held at the Maverick County Lake on Saturday, October 2, 2021, which raised close $22,000.

Candles for Life is a local non profit organization founded by a group of local residents.  The funds raised by this organization are distributed here locally.

Founding Members of Candles for Life are Lucy Garcia, Mary Jane Salgado, Rosa De La Garza, Irene Robinson, Debra De Los Santos, and Dr. Ricardo De Los Santos.

Eagle Pass City Manager George Antuna also spoke, presenting information regarding the city's new budget and fiscal year.

Antuna presented information regarding a revolving loan fund program the City is about to start offering under a recently acquired grant.

"Small business is the backbone of a Community," stated Antuna.
