DPS Investigate Fatal Crash Near Uvalde

DEL RIO - THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY (DPS) is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at approximately 2:10 pm on US Highway 90 and FM 2369 west of Uvalde, in Uvalde County. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a white 2006 Chevrolet pickup failed to yield right of way and was turning east onto Highway US 90 and was struck by a gray 2018 Chevrolet pickup.  

Due to injuries sustained, the driver, Leo G. Saiz, 54 YOA, a resident of Uvalde, and passenger, Juana Longoria, 71 YOA, a resident of San Antonio, which were in the 2006 Chevrolet pickup, were pronounced deceased at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.  DPS Troopers are further investigating this fatal crash.
