"Fue apropiado que tomara ese nombre. La Sra. Amelia Moses se sacrificó tanto luchando y haciendo por la gran gente de Quemado. Se siente bien ver a tantos amigos, familiares y vecinos presentes en este evento, y fue increíble haciendo la inauguración en la esquina de Abdalla y Amelia ”, declaró el juez Saucedo.

Amelia Moses Recognized as Quemado Street Named

On October 2, 2021, Maverick County and members of the Quemado community had the honor and pleasure in recognizing one of the great pioneers of the Valley, Mrs. Amelia Moses.

Maverick County Judge Saucedo and members of the Moses family, including United States District Judge Alia Moses, held

a ceremonial celebration to rename 1st Street in Quemado to Amelia Rd.

"It was only fitting that it take that name. Mrs. Amelia Moses sacrificed so much in fighting and doing for the great people of Quemado. Feels good to see so many friends, family, and neighbors present for this event, and it was awesome doing the unveiling on the corner of Abdalla and Amelia," stated Judge Saucedo.
