The Eagle Pass Independent School District held a meeting on Tuesday, September 14, where they recognized students and teachers for their achievements.
During the meeting, Board President Jorge Barrera called for the recognition of C.C. Winn High School student Evelyn Castillo, whose artwork was selected for the 2021 Association for Migrant Educators of Texas (AMET) Art Contest and will be featured as part of the 2021 AMET Conference this upcoming November 2021.
Evelyn Castillo is a 12th grade student at C.C. Winn High School. Evelyn took part in the Association for Migrant Educators of Texas (AMET) Conference Theme Art Contest, Migrant Education: Rising with Passion, Persistence and Power, and her artwork was selected as the 2021 AMET Art Contest Winner. Evelyn will receive a $1,000 scholarship and her art will be featured as part of the 2021 AMET Conference.
