El jefe Mello dijo que el Departamento de Bomberos de Eagle Pass respondió a una emergencia de incendio el martes por la tarde en una residencia en la Calle Venesa en el Sector Loma Bonita de la comunidad alrededor de las 4:30 pm.

Durante la emergencia de incendio, un bombero resultó herido y tuvo que ser transportado a la sala de emergencias de Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center para una evaluación y tratamiento adicionales.

El bombero sufrió agotamiento por calor debido al intenso incendio y está siendo monitoreado en el hospital. Se espera que el bombero se recupere por completo.

El jefe Mello agregó que el incendio, que dañó una residencia, un área de garaje, varios vehículos y una estructura de cerca, está siendo investigado.

Firefighter Injured while Battling a Residential Fire

Eagle Pass Fire Chief Manuel Mello reported that a male firefighter suffered injuries while battling a residential fire on Tuesday afternoon.

Chief Mello stated that the Eagle Pass Fire Department responded to a fire emergency on Tuesday afternoon at a residence on Calle Venesa in the Loma Bonita Sector of the community at around 4:30 pm.

During the fire emergency a firefighter was injured and had to be transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers Emergency Room for further evaluation and treatment.

The male firefighter suffered heat exhaustion due to the intense fire and is being monitored at the hospital. The firefighter is expected to fully recover.

Chief Mello did add that the fire - which damaged a residence, a garage area, several vehicles, and a fence structure - is being investigated.
