El superintendente local del Distrito Escolar Independiente de Eagle Pass, Samuel Mijares, y el presidente de la junta de EPISD, Jorge Barrera, han reconocido públicamente la orden del juez Saucedo y han declarado que seguirán su orden y orientación.

La orden ejecutiva del juez Saucedo requiere que todos los estudiantes y el personal del Distrito Escolar Independiente de Eagle Pass usen mascarillas mientras asisten al nuevo año escolar.

County Judge Looking out for Citizens Health as Covid 19 Cases increase

Maverick County Judge David Saucedo issued out an executive order on Wednesday, August 11, requiring the use of face masks within the Eagle Pass Independent School District. This action goes against Texas Governor Greg Abbott's stance on Face Mask Mandates.

"I am doing everything possible to assure our Community's well being," said Judge Saucedo.

Local Superintendent for the Eagle Pass Independent School District Samuel Mijares and EPISD Board President Jorge Barrera have both publicly acknowledged Judge Saucedo's order and have stated that they will follow his order and guidance.

Local Health Authority Dr. Victoriano Valdez joins the public officials in calling for this mandate that can be set up under the responsibilities that Dr. Valdez has as local health authority.

"We will continue protecting our community residents," added Judge Saucedo.

Judge Saucedo's executive order requires that all students, personnel at the Eagle Pass Independent School District wear a face mask while attending the new school year.
