School Board Approves Recommended Annual Compensation Plan for Professionals

The Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the Superintendent's annual recommended compensation plan which will implement a one-step increase for professionals within the EPISD.

During a meeting held on Tuesday, August 10, the EPISD Board heard information regarding Superintendent Samuel Mijares's proposal to implement the step increase.

Board President Jorge Barrera opened up an item calling for the approval of the Superintendent's annual compensation plan recommendation for the 2021-2022 to include employee pay increases and salary step increase amounts for professionals as included in the budget.

Superintendent Mijares addressed the board.

"I recommend a salary step increase for employees on the professional hiring schedule to include Teachers, Counselors, Librarians, Registered Nurses, and other Professionals that have completed the 2020/2021 working calendar as included in the budget," stated Mijares.

The recommendation was then put up for a vote and was approved on a unanimous vote.
