On a daily basis, United States Border Patrol Agents throughout the Southern Border deal with ever-growing problems that come with an illegal immigration surge.

In the Del Rio Border Sector, this year through the month of April there has been a 457.4% increase in encounters as compared to the same period last year.
Through April 2021 there have been 118,314 encounters as compared to 2020 which had 21,225.
This is certainly not a good position for anyone involved. As crossings increase, so do the dangers.
"With unpredictable currents and unknown depths, the Rio Grande poses many dangers. Smugglers have no regard for human life and continue to risk the lives of migrants for profit, often leaving them to die," states Chief Patrol Agent Austin Skero.
For now, agents along with other authorities continue in the frontline of the illegal immigration crisis wondering when it will cease.
