Officials have seen an increase in budgets each year as the city's responsibilities and commitments continue to grow to its constituency.
For example, in a four year span the city's budget has increased by approximately 52% going from $24,247,302 in 2017/2018 to the expected $37,000,000 for this coming fiscal year. It's important to note that the new budget is not set in concrete as of the City's last meeting.
For now, the city administration through Finance Director Jesse Rodriguez and City Manager George Antuna continue working on the numbers needed to be able to propose a sound and balanced budget for the Eagle Pass City Council.
Once set, the City Council will approve the final 2021/2022 budget before the start of the new fiscal year, which begins in the month of October.
