Detention Center Inmate Visits to Resume on Monday

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber announced that as of Monday, June 14, inmate visitations will resume after being stopped for more than 14 months.

Schmerber stated that the visits will be conducted in a safe and controlled manner which will include Covid-19 protocols including wearing of masks.

Visitors will have to provide their data and will wait in their vehicle outside until they are called in for their visits. Children will not be allowed at this time.

The Tom Bowles Detention Center has had a control of Covid-19 cases, with only two episodes where employees and inmates had turned out positive.
