Border Patrol Public Affairs Officials from the Del Rio Sector are being recognized for answering the call to protect the community after they rendered first aid to individuals involved in a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Austin Skero reported that the officers driving through an area along US North 277, near Normandy, rolled up on a motor vehicle roll-over accident.

"Two young ladies were injured and my agents jumped into action. They rendered first aid until EMS arrived from Eagle Pass. I couldn’t be prouder of the team here in Del Rio Sector," wrote Chief Skero.

Minutes later, the Maverick County Sheriff Department and Eagle Pass Fire Department EMS personnel arrived at the scene, and proceeded to transport the victims to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers for further evaluation and treatment.
