Vehicle flees the scene after hitting a pedestrian

The Eagle Pass Police Department reported a hit-and-run with a pedestrian on Friday, March 5, 2021, in the 200 block of Bibb St at around 11:00 pm.  

Officials reported that an emergency call cane into the 911 system reporting that a male Individual had been struck by a silver/gray pickup truck and was on the street bleeding and Severely injured.

The Eagle Pass Police and Fire Department EMS responded to the scene.

Upon arriving at the scene, officials made contact with a male individual who needed immediate medical assistance.

The victim was triaged and transported to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers Emergency Room for further evaluation and treatment.

The pickup truck responsible for the accident had left the scene of the accident.

The Eagle Pass Police Department quickly put out a Be on the Look-Out (BOLO) alert for the truck that was reported to have front end damage.

Law enforcement agencies including the Maverick County Sheriff Department and United States Border Patrol proceeded to search for the reported truck.

The Eagle Pass Police Department is currently investigating this tragic accident.

No further information on the health condition of the victim has been made available.
