Governor Greg Abbott ordered last week that a mask mandate be lifted by Wednesday, March 10, but ultimately it's up to every business location, if they continue requiring the use of a mask to ingress into their locations.

Last week, Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes held a Covid-19 briefing in which they notified the community that both governmental entities would not lift their required mask mandate in any entity building.

During the briefing they also explained that any private business has every right to require for anyone ingressing to wear a mask as well.

Those businesses can refuse service if someone is not willing to comply with the mask wearing requirement and if an individual refuses to comply they may ask for that person to leave.

If for any reason things get out of hand and an individual does not comply they can be reported to law enforcement authorities for trespassing.

Law enforcement authorities will be summoned to the location and ask the individual or individuals to leave or comply with the locations mask wearing requirement. If they do not comply they can be detained and charged for trespassing.
