Local Officials announced during the daily Emergency Operation Center briefing that personnel from the Texas National Guard are going to be deployed into the community to begin inoculations for individuals that are home bound.

Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes and Maverick County Judge David Saucedo announced that the guardsmen will be going to homes where individuals are either bedridden or have an incapacitation that hinders them from going to the EOC inoculation site.

Officials will be holding talks with state officials in the following days to work out the logistics of how this inoculation process will be administered.

Officials are confident that Maverick County will continue receiving more vaccines to inoculate everyone that wants to receive the Covid-19 Vaccine.

Judge Saucedo added that State officials notified them that they will be sending another 600 vaccines.

The Maverick County Hospital District will receive 500 vaccines and Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers will get 100.

That's a total of 2,800 vaccines being sent to our community on a weekly basis.
