Maverick County Judge David Saucedo announced that the unified Emergency Operation Center, with assistance from community organizations, inoculated over 1,290 individuals in a two-day period.

Judge Saucedo said that the unified effort which included the EOC, Maverick County, City of Eagle Pass, Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers, Maverick County Hospital District, Eagle Pass Independent School District, and other volunteering agencies were able to provide the vaccine in an effort to show the State that they can handle mass inoculations.

"We're very thankful for the assistance from all participating agencies who have helped out so much during this pandemic," said Judge Saucedo.

Saucedo added that a request to increase the Vaccine allotments has been put through with assistance from Texas Senator Roland Gutierrez who represents Maverick County and the surrounding region.

"The next allotment is expected to come in on Monday of next week, and we're already preparing to have inoculations as soon as possible. We will not rest and will continue doing everything in our capabilities to help out our residents," added Saucedo. “We're not out of this, so I ask each and every one of you to please protect yourselves, wear a mask, wash your hands and refrain from having large gatherings."
