Durante la conferencia, el alcalde Sifuentes afirmó que el aumento de casos es bastante preocupante e instó a la comunidad a que analice en profundidad las inquietantes circunstancias en las que nos encontramos a medida que los casos continúan aumentando.
"Es nuestra responsabilidad personal practicar todas las medidas de seguridad", dijo Sifuentes.
El juez Saucedo afirmó que durante el fin de semana se habían detectado un total de 246 nuevos casos positivos, lo que eleva el recuento a 7,473. De ellos, 5,966 se han recuperado.
Se han realizado 38,883 pruebas y 31,158 resultaron negativas.
Actualmente, hay 1,341 personas que están en cuarentena como casos activos.
Sifuentes y Saucedo agregaron que otra persona falleció de Covid-19 y ofrecieron sus condolencias a la familia.
Eso eleva el total de muertos a 166 personas.
54 personas están hospitalizadas en los Centros Médicos Regionales de Fort Duncan.
Officials report 246 new Covid-19 positive cases
Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes held a press conference in which they announced the newest Covid-19 positive case numbers on Monday.
During the conference Mayor Sifuentes stated that the increase in cases is quite concerning and urged the community to take a deep look at the unsettling circumstances that we’re finding ourselves in as cases continue to rise.
"It's our personal responsibility to practice all safety measures," said Sifuentes.
Judge Saucedo stated that over the weekend a total of 246 new positive cases had been detected, bringing the count to 7,473. Of those, 5,966 have recovered.
There have been 38,883 tests conducted with 31,158 coming back negative.
Currently, there are 1,341 people who are quarantined as active cases.
Sifuentes and Saucedo added that another individual had passed away from Covid-19 and offered their condolences to the family.
That brings the death total to 166 people.
54 people are hospitalized at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers.
