As of now the restrictions that have shut off vital travelers into US border communities like Eagle Pass that depend on those visitors have been extended until December 21st.
Many individuals believe that those restrictions will more than likely go into next year.
For now, borders with Canada and Mexico are expected to remain closed to non-essential travel.
This news comes as Covid-19 cases continue to rise in the US and Mexico.
The United States leads the world in Covid-19 cases.
Locally, the economy has been hit hard in part from the ban on non-essential travel into the US.
It's more than likely that stores and retailers are going to see a huge decrease in Black Friday sales which are scheduled to take place the Friday after Thanksgiving.
