As of November 17 there have been 360 new positive Covid-19 cases on our community.
Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes urged the community to take all precautions especially as we're headed into the coming holidays.
Officials also announced that they're closely monitoring the hospital beds occupancy and the patients who require to be transferred to a San Antonio hospital because of the lack of beds in those facilities.
Currently, numerous communities across the state Including El Paso are having surges of cases requiring for patients to be transferred to other area hospitals Including in San Antonio. That could lead to a scarcity of beds for other communities such as Eagle Pass.
“We must be very careful and follow all measures to stay safe," said Mayor Sifuentes.
During the Tuesday briefing, Saucedo and Sifuentes announced that there were 29 new cases bringing the total of positive cases to 4,682, of which 4,082 have recovered.
There are currently, 457 active cases.
"The number of deaths remains at 143," stated Judge Saucedo.
26,068 people have gotten tested with 21,158 coming back negative.
There are 27 people hospitalized at this time.
"We really need people to understand that gatherings are the largest contributor to the increase of infections," added Sifuentes.
