Kaira Balboa was crowned Miss 4th of July at the beauty pageant put on by the Eagle Pass Parks and Recreation Department on Saturday at the Multi-Purpose Center.
She will wear the crown at all events related to the Fourth of July celebrations held across the city this week as we honor our country and our fighting forces over seas on the birthday of our nation.
On Wednesday, a parade will be held in downtown Eagle Pass and on Saturday will be the grand festival which will take place at Shelby Park where thousands of Eagle Passans are expected to attend.
Priscilla Perez was coronated Miss Liberty. Kristy Benavides and Sara Garza also participated in the pageant.
In the children's category, Michell Lynn Torralba was coronated Little Miss 4th of July and Marichel Hernandez was named Little Miss Liberty.
There was a large crowd of onlookers and spectators at the event as they crowded into the Multi-Purpose Center to witness the pageant in all its gallantry. A panel of judges made the final decision as to who would be representing our city at the Fourth of July festivities all week long.
Congratulations to all participants, winners and their parents.
