The two-year-long project that TXDOT has been working alongside contractor Reece Albert Inc. that starts at Veterans Blvd and ends at LP 480 is currently in the final stages of construction. All traffic signals have been fully operational since September 30.

All lanes of traffic are fully open, and no future lane closures are anticipated for roadway work. Full acceptance and completion of all work items for the project are anticipated to be done by October 30, 2020. "The south leg of the US 57 intersection with US 277 is under construction through a contract with the City of Eagle Pass. If it hasn't already been done, that section of the roadway will remain closed until the City of Eagle Pass coordinates the opening with TxDOT. Current traffic patterns have remained the same as before construction until the south leg of this intersection opens.

At which time, traffic may head south and north from Patsy Wynn at US 277," reported TXDOT Public Information Officer Raul Leal. Leal added that a new project is in the works which will include new raised medians in Eagle Pass on US 277 from 2nd St to Bibb Ave, FM375 from US57 to Yota Dr, and FM1021 from FM 3443 (Veterans Blvd) to Las Quintas.
