The report shows that in August total traffic counts were at 170,545 as compared to July which had 179,663 crossings. This is a decreased difference of 9,118 fewer vehicles crossing.
The most significant decrease was in non-commercial vehicles.
In August there was 130,415 vehicle crossings while July reported 136,422 a decreased difference of 6,007 less vehicle crossings or about -4% decease.
Commercial vehicle traffic did decrease by 458 during this reporting period.
In July there were 14,546 commercial vehicles that crossed while in August there were 14,088.
Pedestrian crossings had a decrease of approximately 2,701 fewer persons crossing.
Local officials are cognizant of the damage that restrictionary travel in non-essential travelers had caused and will continue to cause if they're not lifted.
At this point all they can do is hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
