Deaths continue to climb as Positive Covid-19 cases drop

Local officials announced that sadly another 3 people from our community lost their battle to the Covid-19 Virus. 

Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes held a briefing on Monday evening in which they presented the newest Covid-19 numbers which included 19 new positive cases.

Judge Saucedo reported that 8 of those cases were from the month of August but had not been reported by the State. The other 11 cases had been detected over the weekend.

The victims were two men, ages 73 year old, 66 years old; and a 77-year-old woman. 

The number of virus infections rise to 3,652 with 3,223 that have recovered.

Up until now 18,124 people have been tested, with 14,318 coming back negative.

There were approximately only 66 new tests conducted over the weekend. 102 pending tests came back negative. 

Up until Friday of last week, there had been 18,058 people tested with 14,216 coming out negative.

There are only 9 people admitted to the hospital with only one on a ventilator. This is the lowest number of patients hospitalized in the past 60 days. 

The positivity rate remains at 20.3.
